Hello,
I have the same problem, MPE crashing, when downloading sms messages.
I have something more than 5000 messages.
Usually the first attempt of download of messages crashes. When starting MPE again and repeating the download, it is working.
But still it is annoying.
And I have Redmi 4 Note ...
