Have you also updated MPE's .apk file in the phone? If not get it here: m.

If that doesn't solve the issue uninstall MPE with an uninstaller like Revo so as to have no leftovers. Reinstal. Try to repair Office by double xxx on its installer and choosing the "Repair" option.
