After using My Phone Explorer without problem for perhaps a year, upon reinstallation of Windows 7 I get 'Obex protocol could not be loaded OBEX Error: ERROR'
I have tried reinstalling MPE but get the same thing.
What to do?

but how does the message Android System, ChompSMS, GoSMS and others sends a MMS :roll: ?
Maybe peraring the MMS on the PC, then sending the MMS things to temp folder on the device and then the MPE.apk get all things and make the http-post.

If I were to restore a previously made backup, will I in that process get the chance to select particular items to restore before 'pressing go', or will the process overwrite all current phone content?

As it is an F J Wechselberger, FJsoft proprietary format, there is no way to check beforehand ...

It works fine here. What's your problem? (See other W10 threads - maybe you can figure it out from them).

I have been using MyPhoneExplorer (MPE) for at least a year now - no complaints; it's a very well-thought out and versatile little program. (I even donated a little bit.)

But that was under Windows 7. Now, I have been coerced into using Windows 10 against my better judgement, and MPE doesn't work ...

Thanks for the feedback Gorani and good the problem is solved! To clarify: I am not part of FJ Software - just a normal user since six months and share your opinion about MPE: It is a great piece of work!

Thank you Wilfried. "Did you try to stop and start /.../ MPE on the desk top?" Yes I did, several times (I have no phone besides my trusty old K530i). But yesterday, pending an answer from you, I simply uninstalled and reinstalled MPE - and voilà! It now it works perfectly again.

After about two weeks of almost flawless operation, suddenly I get OBEX protocol could not be initialized! OBEX Error: ERROR whenever I try to sync the phone, so at this point I cannot use the program at all.

And yes, I have donated via PayPal as initially I was very appreciative of the software ...

This application is very, very good and a vast improvement over Sony PC Companion which I labored with before and which works only intermittently and then reluctantly;
it often crashes without explanation and the sonymobile people responsible for development and maintenance of the program ignore ...
