I face the same problem too, for many many years. But I think I know how to get around it. The problem is just that MPE is too weak in its connection and am not sure if the developer knows about it.

What I do is both PC and HP is connected to the same wifi network and I usually put my phone close ...

I am using WinXP. My Samsung S2 is on 4.1.2. My PC, my phone, modem and router are all in the same room within close proximity.

I still get frequent disconnection. I have to Connect -> Sync or Disconnect -> Connect -> Sync.
