Thanks, that information about uninstalling the current newer client version helped , nothing wrong with the apk packet and no reason to disturb FJ
And the mpeclient_1.0.48.apk is working .

But with the client unistalled it's some more work to install the older client since that can't be done ...

I can do that so he can verify that the file isn't corrupt if no one else have tried to install that old version.
And I might try on an older phone I have first, I'm sure that FJ need the holiday free from work.

Downloaded and tried to install mpeclient_1.0.48.apk ( SHA256: C01CF467F689544FA2FEBD57F9811FB25678A19A52909A0503CA5D89C097B410 )
It wasn't possible, "package seems to damaged" is the response in the phone.
Any idea why it fails?

Yes the Z has a stamina mode which is excellent and I have the phones active when I do my tests. And I'm a software test engineer with networking as expertise so I think I know how to perform the testing.

Then it make sense to me why the wrong phone answers and there is no need to post any logfiles at this time, I can also see that MPE are using ports 5210-5212 for the communication and it can easily be logged with wireshark which may be a good complement to the logs.

I guess that you are trying to delete the default groups in Android, Family, Friends, Coworkers...
They can't be deleted!

I'm well aware of the fact that I can use fixed IP addresses but that doesn't really answer my question if this is a bug or not.

Setting a fixed address in the phone is a bad idea when connecting to different networks, using DHCP with settings that match MAC address or Client ID to reserved IP ...

I just had the same error message and it was not caused by firewalls etc.

It was just as simple as the client in the phone wasn't started
once stared it syncronizes
