I have read a number of posts on how contacts are assigned to address books and confess to not completely understanding it. I am syncing with two phones and see Phone and Google books in MPE. The two phones are a Moto x4 on 8.1.0 and a Samsung Galaxy X on 5.1.1. I have had new contacts going to ...

In Thunderbird I have Personal, Contacts, and Collected addresses.
In MPE I have Google, sync with Thunderbird and advanced Personal and Contacts. bu collected sync turned off
On Android contacts I have lots and lots of duplicates.
I want to keep Google sync turned off because I'm cruising around ...

I have two phones for different continents and I want to maintain the same contact and appointment data on both from Thunderbird. I use USB sync. Do I need to have separate users? Is user really "device" or does it relate to content?

Is there a non-google (offline) android calendar app which MPE will sync with Thunderbird on my W7 PC?

Agreed, but you could only update the Thunderbird field if lightning is installed. You already have it in MPE, so it would seem to be trivial to selectively update it.

I'd also like to see MPE groups synced to Thunderbird/Lightning categories provided by the MoreFunctionsForAddressBook add-on. That is all that is keeping me from ditching Outlook for Thunderbird.

Well, it turned out to be a poisoned contact on the phone. I couldn't delete it manually on the phone. I found how to delete ALL contacts, which worked, and resyncd. All good, now.

Also, when I try to delete all phonebook entries on the phone I get "The process android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."
I was able to delete some by groups. but the last has 161 members and it seems like one of them is poisionous.

Outlook sync worked once or twice, but no more. I looked through some of the other posts but couldn't find anything. I've uninstalled/reinstalled MPE and app on my Samsung GT-5500. Also removed the battery. No joy.
