I'm seriously pissed off that SE have dropped the ability to bluetooth contacts from my old (SE K800i) phone to my new X10 Mini Pro and are instead wanting to force me to use their new SE Sync software. To me this is a monstrous invasion of privacy that they should be taking all the data about my friends and relations on to their servers.

Does anyone who has actually used their Sync service have anything to say about why I shouldn't be worried about this?

FJ - I'm really hoping you can get at least a basic contacts transfer to X10 family phones up and running soon and help me get my life properly organised again!

Loving the new phone, except for this. I want to give it to my wife to use for a couple of weeks to see if she'd like one too, but contacts management is going to stop me doing this at the moment.

Hello,

Sony-Ericsson Sync Tool allow you to save your contacts automaticaly whithout any operation. Thanks to it, in case of rob, break... you just have to configure your new Sony-Ericsson phone and you will get all your contact book. :)

But, if you want to wait the new version of MPE (X10 compatible), you can search for Bluetooth Transfert application on Android Market instead : it will allow you to share contact via Bluetooth.
