Hello,

I have a little problem and I hope somebody will help me.

A long time ago (in the far, far away galaxy called 'France'), I used My Phone Explorer to save a backup of my mobile phone contacts, as well as transfer my text messages on the computer (my mobile phone's memory was full).

Today, I have to move my personal data to a new computer, and even if I found the file with my contacts in it, I can't retrieve the text messages, and to say that this worries me would be an understatement.

So I was wondering if anyone could tell me what is the extension of the file with the text messages in it, and/or the path of the folder where My Phone Explorer saves them by default.

Regards,

Cyril Void

You can create a whole backup (Extras -- Create Backup), this will have the file extension .mpb.
The standard file extension for messages is .sms, but when you export, you can also choose other file types like .html (you can't import them, just .sms files can be imported again!)

You can find the path where all the data is stored by pressing Windows+R (= Start -- Run) and type

Code: Alles auswählen

%appdata%\MyPhoneExplorer
Inside is a folder with your MPE-username and IMEI (or more folders if you have more mpe-users). You can just save this/these folder(s) somewhere and restore them on your new pc after installing MyPhoneExplorer. Note that a backup (Extras -- Create Backup) is recommended (but usually not necessary)!

Well thank you very much Sir, I indeed could retrieve everything in Application_Data.
