Problem with smsarchive.dat and restoring it

Hi, I'm new to this forum, but have been using MPE for years and love it, thank you!

Basically, i am trying to restore my sms messages from an old smsarchive.dat file i have recovered from accidentally deleting.

(Background: I recently formatted my hard disc before reinstalling my OS, but didn't back up my MPE data files. I have managed to recover the smsarchive.dat file, after trying a number of file recovery programs.)

Now i am trying to get my sms messages (they are very important to me for personal reasons) out of the smsarchive.dat file. I have tried copying it into AppData>Roaming>MyPhoneExplorer>My new profile, but then when i open up MPE there are no messages shown in the archive. Can you suggest another way to retrieve my sms?

I've also tried deleting and making a new profile then trying this again before a new smsarchive.dat file is made, but this hasn't worked either.

- Type of connection: USB
- MPE-version: 1.7.4
- Windows version: Windows 7 Home Premium

Please send me the file zipped via email so i can take a look at it if there is something to recover. I am afraid the file is corrupt.

Fingers crossed it is not corrupted! Or at least not all of it..

Bad news...

The file contains no data of a SMS. There is no part which looks like this. If you open your file in notepad then you'll see much things about drivers, but no data like the SMS-Archive in MPE.
