Syncing to a USB drive from different computers

Hi there,

I've got 2 different computers which I use depending on where I am. But I want to keep my messages and contacts synchronised in the one place. So I set up myphoneexplorer to write the sync data to the USB pen drive letter on both computers. I have the letter set as the same on both computers, so it accordingly writes to the USB drive on both computers.

The problem arises where MyPhoneExplorer on one computer created a folder on the (e.g.) F: drive but the other computer then opens this folder, opens the folder with the phone name and IMEI label on it, and then writes its own "phone label and IMEI" folder inside that one with its own sync data.

In other words, one computer cannot write into the sync data that the other computer created.

How do I solve this problem?? It's very difficult to maintain a continuous archive of messages/tasks/contacts etc if I have to sync my phone to the same computer every time. This is especially difficult with a phone I have that has a 200 text message limit.

Any help would be really appreciated! It's the best software for the job by miles!

It must be a problem with the Database-Path settings. Tell me the DB-Paths which you see in the Settingswindow of both PC's

I can't check for certain if they are the same on both PCs. I'm pretty sure that I typed in M:\Myphoneexplorer for both of them. I shall reply back here during the weekend to confirm this. I shall also check that the same version of MPE is being used on both machines.

To clarify, after using Myphoneexplorer on both computers, a folder with the path M:\myphoneexplorer was created, but another myphoneexplorer folder was created inside this, with the phone data inside that too. (i.e. M:\myphoneexplorer\myphoneexplorer\Sony Ericsson C510....)

I think i understand your problem. The subfolder "MyPhoneExplorer" is always created. So if you want to use M:\MyPhoneExplorer then you have to set M: on both PCs and not M:\MyPhoneExplorer
