MPE is great and I use it a lot in the UK on the Orange network mainly to send text messages. Whenever I use MPE in the USA on the same laptop with the same USB cable it becomes very unreliable.

Here is what happens:

1.) I get "Error..connection to phone not possible" and the only solution is to unplug the USB cable and plug it back in again. (Sometimes it will work for some time without a problem, other times I have to unplug it after every text message)
2.) When sending text messages I get "Sending failed" even though the text message has been sent.

I am using EXACTLY the same equipment and cable as in the UK, the only thing that has changed is the SIM card.

Is there something different about the AT&T SIM or how a European GSM phone works on the USA networks? What do I need to post in order to diagnose the problem?

Its a known issue on many new devices: When sending messages the phone uses much power. So much power that the Command-Channel breaks down. Try it with another cable and USB-Port. mostly this helps (nut its interesting that it has to do with locations)

I've tried a different cable too, no luck. Could you suggest anything else to try?

What happens if you use the original PC-Suite for sending messages ?

Very interesting. PC-Suite works fine for sending text messages and other operations with the C905.

Do you think you are able to record the communication of both apps with PortMon ?
