K800@K810 crashes on installing Java apps or uploading file.

Hi.
I've been using MPE 1.7.0 and upgraded it to 1.7.4 it worked fine before but now whenever i try to click the button 'install java app' or click the button to upload a file it will get stuck and nothing happens and then i have to shut it down.
I remember installing and uploading files b4 on the same phone. Even now if i connect my k750 it works just f9. Please help... I tried uninstalling MPE altogether... installed 1.7.0 still cant upload files.
P.S. i'm using WinXP service pack 2.
