Synchronisation with Outlook 2010

Are there any plans to improve MyPhoneExplorer's integration with Outlook 2010 in the near future? MPE does not recognise Outlook 2010 in the Sync settings.

I've found that it is possible to sync from within Outlook 2010 if Outlook 2007 is installed first (and upgraded): make sure that the MyPhoneExplorer add-in is enabled ('Manage COM add-ins'), and then look a MyPhoneExplorer menu under the Add-ins tab on the ribbon.

I realise that Office 2010 is still a fair way off release, but it would be nice to see MPE working by the time the public beta is out later this year :)

Please open regedit.exe and tell me which value the following Reg-Key has:

Code: Alles auswählen

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Outlook.Application\CurVer

Is there any update to the status of Outlook 2010 support now that the public Beta is released.

Especially as to run the 64 bit 2010 software all previous outlook copies must be removed

Ich nehme mal an es wird nicht möglich sein die 64-bit Version zu unterstützen oder?
Am I correct if there will be no support for Office x64?

I did add the detection for Outlook 2010 in the current beta of MPE, please try it.

I have no informations if it will work on Office x64 - i also cannot test it.

I had the very same problem, tried the new Nightly (18.11.2009 18:18:00), but to no avail.
Using MS Office 2010 Beta 2, I checked the reg:

Code: Alles auswählen

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Outlook.Application\CurVer
says

Code: Alles auswählen

Outlook.Application.14
but still Outlook 2010 is not recognized:

Strange - i was really sure that i made this adaption. After a look in the source-code i saw that this was not the case. please download and try the beta again.

This new version (20.11.09) seemed to do the trick. "Outlook 2010" is now there along with "Windows Contacts". I haven't actually sync'ed yet, so I'll let you know if there are any glitches further on. But I take it Outlook 2010's contact system should be basically identical to the 2007 version, so if all goes well this should be a smooth ride.

FYI, I actually had to install the new Nightly manually (extract and then copy over the old files). For some reason - could be some mistake on my end - it wouldn't update from the old Nightly when just using the Debug setup exe.

So, all in all: thanks FJ :)

Sorry for the quick re-post, but I found a first glitch: during Sync, MPE doesn't read the city tag in an Outlook contact file correctly. There are a couple of letters missing at the end. The picture below is just an example, it happened to some more contacts that I skimped through. Oddly enough, there are contacts with "Berlin" as city that have the full cityname.

Please download the beta, when you get the Sync-Confirmation then abort the sync. After this send me the logfile via email

I'm sorry, but I think it's too late for that. I already sync'ed using the phone's data, so now I naturally don't get the "missing letter" problem anymore. Once it happens again, I'll send you the log.

Having said that, I somehow have the idea it wasn't entirely MPE's fault. A couple of hours before, I made a somewhat unsuccessful Outlook<->gMail sync. It doesn't really make sense to me, but it might have something to do with that.

But, I have another question that probably doesn't belong in this thread at all, so I apologize for it. But I couldn't really get results using the forum's search. So, when syncing MPE's contacts with either Outlook or gMail, am I right to assume it only works with contacts that actually have a phone number? Hence, that contacts with, for example, only an email address are discarded during the sync process? And if so, is there a way to turn that feature off and actually sync every contact, even those without telephone numbers?

Thanks in advance.

My work laptop was recently upgraded to W7 Enterprise with O2010 Beta.

I installed the Nightly Build of MyPhoneExplorer 1.7.4 12/14/2009.

I configured the sync as follows:
File | Settings | Sync
Contacts: Outlook 2010 My\Contacts
Calendar: Outlook 2010 My\Calendar
Notes: Outlook 2010 My\Notes
Mute the phone during sync

This worked perfectly. No issues after inspecting the sync'd items. Shame Sony Ericsson couldn't manage to do what you've done very simply.

Thanks morpheus.dreaming

I just want to say thank you. Your post helped me to solve my problem with synchronizing my SE K800i kalendar with outlook 2010 beta.

All the best.

But you should note that you are using a beta-version which is not so stable and tested as the official version...
