Hi there,

I synchronize my DELL LAPTOP (Inspiron 6400- OS :WINXP HOME) with my SE W700i and it synchronizes effortlessly.

With Windows Auto updates on, some updates were recently installed after which I am constantly getting COM Port error for use with MPE.

Windows however can transfer files to the phone over bluetooth.

What can be done now ?? Will uninstalling recent updates work ??

Kindly help.

1) Have a look if "serial connection" is activated in your bluetooth software.
2) Try to search for the phone (in the settings where you can choose a port the button search device)

If 1 & 2 doesn't help, please post the logfile. (in the settings, show logfile)

No...

Whenever I try to add serial port, mobile phone can be found but
I get the message "Access is denied".

I am sure that I haven't made any change to mobile phone's bluetooth software.

Also whenever I try to find LAPTOP from mobile phone, it can find the PC but it does not display serial port service amongst the services available.

Guys... I got the answer.

I had to make following change to make it work.

From -> Services -> Bluetooth Support Service -> Log On ->
I had to click on ' Local System Account and check this box below
"Allow Service to interact with Desktop' .

And Apply the change.

Its working G8 now... :D
