Hi,
I installed MPE a couple of weeks ago and it intalled and ran well. I had to do a System Recovery at the weekend and now I can't reinstall MPE 1.7.2. It hangs on Sport.DLL. I decided to try to install version 1.6.7 and it worked, so I tried the update with it installed. But it failed at the same point and it uninstalled version 1.6.7. I tried to install 1.6.7 and it installed, but then I got a popup saying I needed a licence to run this program. I uninstalled it and reinstalled 1.6.7 and it installed ok. But 1.7.2 won't install but it did before I did the recovery. Can anyone help, please.

Update on my last.
I get the following messages.
Serial Port Active x control not registered on this machine, If you want to use it register now.
Also if I click a button on the above message I get Runtime error '492'
&
You do not have the appropriate licence to use this functionality.
These messages do not appear all of the time. I'm running XP with SP3.

I think you had not administrator-access while installing.
Disable also your AV-Software before installing cause some scanners does block copying new files to the system-folder.

I am logged on as administrator, I've also disabled my AV & FW with the same outcome. It installed & worked fine with the AV & FW running until I did the recovery. It stops the install at Register Sport. DLL, if I open Task Manager and stop regsp.exe it loads but when I try to run it I get the 'Serial Port Active x control not registered on this machine, If you want to use it register now' popup.
Regsp.Exe has now reappeared in Task Manager and the program won't uninstall until I stop Redsp.exe again. I then install version 1.6.7 without any problem. I looked in Task Manager and see that Regsp.Exe is not there in version 1.6.7

v1.6.7 used an older version of this file (which made also not so much problems). Please install again v1.7.2 and if you see the "Register now" dialog then email me so i can give you the license-data.

I read your reply and tried to install v1.7.2, it stopped at Register Sport.DLL then started again after a while and installed. I must have tried to install it 5 or 6 times today without success. I haven't altered anything on my computer to make it install so I don't know why it decided to install. But it has and I restored my backup file. I'll keep an eye on it for a few days.
Thank you for your help.
