syncing one phone and two myphoneexplorers

hello
still loving the software thank you
I have a c905 and MPE at home and work. If i use the work MPE to rename a contact, the home MPE uploads the changed contact as new then replaces the old one on the phone again. If I then use the work MPE to delete the old contact, the home MPE replaces it again! It's not so bad as at least data isn't being lost, but am I supposed to be able to run two MPEs on the same phone? It used to work with the older ones.
Thank you!

Cause of contacts: Did you see this already with the new beta or with v1.7.2 ?
The rotating feature is as lossless as possible. Theoretically its not possible to edit compressed formats without loss.

it's hard to say as the c905 didn't work very well without the new betas, but certainly older versions were better with contacts sync.. I can try an old version if you like.
Lossless JPEG transforms are possible - the free image viewer irfanview does them, and I hear free code is available according to the faq here

Thanks, but i think the current code is already lossless. It was described as lossles but personally i think its not possible to edit compressed files without loss.
restore backup with beta

Just a note to say that a backup made with last week's beta failed to restore correctly. i installed 172 and it restored the contacts ok, but all the contact photo associations are gone. that's a shame, i really liked that feature! still, the edited pictures are all there so i can still use them.

I backed up my c905 before I did the SEUS update to the new may R1EA033 WESTERN-EUROPE software. Trying to restore, five of the 320 contacts came back as blank, and none of the contact pictures worked, although they were still on the phone memory card.
I tried quite a few times, but only installing v172 correctly restored the contacts. By then I had deleted the contact pictures.
I'm not sure unfortunately if the 173 had "stable connection" enabled or not.
So it could be a number of things.
I've tried restoring the old version again with 173 with and without the stable connection and it seems fine now. Maybe it was a one-off.

actually no, after redoing all these tests i deleted all the contacts on my phone via the phone UI, then downloaded the phone contacts to MPE to clear it, then did a restore of the latest backup contacts on MPE using 173. 8 of the contacts are blank, and opening a blank one crashed MPE. downloading from the phone again didn't change anything.
fortunately i had a phone-based backup that i restored and downloaded to mpe, but the pictures are gone again.....
anyway, there it is.
