Hi all, I have Ver 1.6.6 on my old laptop running XP. I have all my messages stored on that program/laptop. Please could someone advise me how i can transfer all my old messages from archive (mycomputer) on my new laptop running Vista. I already have all my contacts in outlook 2003 on the new laptop. I would like to use either Ver 1.6.6 again or if i can use your latest version of myphoneexplorer and keep my old message archive that would be great.

Any help would be appreciated,

Thanks

Update MyPhoneExplorer on your old PC to the current v1.7.2.
Go to Menu-Extras-Creat backup and check only "SMS-Archive" (the other things are already on the phone so its not needed to transfer them).

Install v1.7.2 on your new PC, connect the phone to ensure that the right userprofile gets loaded and restore the backupfile.

Thank you - Can't believe it is that easy. If i download teh new version on my old PC i assume it will automatically update the old software instead of making a new copy?

Many Thanks again - Fantastic.

Just start the setup of the new version. The installer will make a clean update in background.

Works great - 1 more query/glitch

I did a sync after wiping my phone so that all my 910 contacts from outlook would be transferred (i chose the force from outlook option) to my phone. Everything has been synced, but when the changes box came up it only transferred 683 contacts to my phone but i have spce for 1000. I do not know why as i still have 910 in my outlook contacts. they all fit on there before.

Not sure what to do next?

thanks for all your help.

How many contacts you have in Outlook ?

Maybe there are some Outlook-Contacts without phonenumber. MyPhoneExplorer overides this contacts, but if you want you can disable this exception in the Exceptionsettings for Sync with Outlook.

Hi I have 910 contacts in Outlook. But i think You are correct - The ones that are missing are without a number which makes perfect sense. Thank you

I am getting to know your programme quite well now. Another curious thing which was present in 1.6.5 as well is that my sent SMS messages from my Sony K800i do not show a time and date they say No indication When i look at them in the sent messages on the myphoneexplorer window. Or if i look at them once uploaded into Archive they say teh date that they were uploaded and not the date the individual messages were sent. Any idea how i can correct this so it does have a date and time stamp for future reference. Many Thanks
