I was using MPE with a SE W610i to backup my contacts and sms data, which worked absolutely fine. Now I have a new phone (W595) with a new network provider. I have tried doing exactly what I did before, connecting the phone via USB and setting it to phone mode and opening MPE. However, when I go to File|Connect I get the instant error message "Could not open COM3!". I imagine I have probably missed something simple, but is it possible to connect this new phone to the software which I guess is still trying to recognise my old phone? And then is it possible to copy my contacts onto my new phone?

Typical, isn't it? You ask for some help, and then with a bit of fiddling around you work it out yourself! Turns out my new phone was COM7 and I found that you could change this in File|Options, which obviously allowed it to work. And then I could easily switch between the two phones, export the phonebook from my old one (right click|export) and then import this into the phonebook for my new phone and sync it up. Now its all fine. Cheers anyway!
