Hi.
I have tried to restore a backup in My Phone Explorer, but the process is not taking place and the "My phone explorer" window closes automatically. Any Solutions please?? I just want the sms-archive to restore in my pc...is dere a way to do this succesfully??

MPE version?
Mobile type?
Windows?
type of connection?
Despite of backup failure, is MPE works fine with your phone?

It should work in the current version 1.7.1 . If not - how many messages you want to import ?

@FJ: my version is the latest...i have a backup of lyk 4.25 mb that i just want to restore in the software including the sms's...but while i'm doing it MPE closes itself n da typical windows error comes that MPE had to close due to some problem...pleese can u help me!! N btw i tried restoring a backup of an earlier date n it was successful...tho 2 backups of later dates r not being restored!

@Khosrow: MPE 1.7.1, w700i, windows XP, n connection is thru bluetooth...i avnt tried using it before the backup restores tho m sire it'd work fyn!

I think the SMS-Archive is simply too big.
Please note that MyPhoneExplorer can store maximal 32000 messages. How many sms are currently in the archive and how many messages are in the backup (guessed value if you don't know it exactly) ?

And plese tell me if there is a way of extracting the smsarchive.dat file frm a mpe backup file...i could send u the backup if u need it but please do something i really desperately need it!

@ FJ: i guess the sms archive is of about 8000 sms's not more den that! should i send u the backup file?

FJ do you have a hotmail id or any other...when i click email tab under ur name it opens windows outlook...nd i dun no hw to use it:(

The file contained many spaces in the lower part. Why did you edit the backupfile ? This raised MPE to crash.

I fixed the file - you've got mail.

Thnx alot FJ...i will try to retry the restoration of the backup again...n vil let u no if it works...i did not edit the file actually it was recovered from a corrupt hard drive...the spaces would have been created in the recovering process;)...n yea i got da mail! thanx FJ leme try it out!!
