Suggestion to creators of the MPE I use all the time:

1. We already have SMS delivery indication in a pop-balloon when SMS is received and my phone is still connected to MPE. If it's NOT connected when SMS delivered, I don't get a report. Can this be fixed?

(There is a way to do things another way, but it would be time consuming: I can SAVE an SMS instead of sending it, and then to send it from my cell phone. Then I'll have delivery time/date. BTW, I can not save msgs longer than 160 chars.)

2. For the messages from the Sent folder I see "no indication" in Time column, even I can access this info on my cell phone.

3. It would be great to have SMS delivery date/time stamp also included as a column in Sent Items!

For instance, SE K750i doesn't have a date/time stamp on SMS delivery, it has just a stamp "yes/no" Sad. On the other hand, SE K510i has the full time/date delivery stamp, so I guess MPE can read it? Maybe even from K750i?

Please let me know what do you think of this idea and I something could be done.

Thanks a lot,
Ivan

I'll tell you the facts:
- its possible to get a delivery-report if MyPhoneExplorer is connected, but its not possible to read out a saved delivery report.
- its also not possible to set the refrence to an existing message so i cannot define for which messge the report is.

This are the reason why there is no deeper support of this feature possible.

i have 2 questions, which i hope somebody can answer for me:

1) for some reason, after i input the dates/times, they are coloured red. now, after 1 year of having the phone and using the software, all of the sent sms times have all been wiped clear. the sent sms's are still there, but all the dates on them have suddenly disappeared, which has really annoyed me. i have backups, but i don't know how to restore the missing data from them whilst retaining all the recent messages.

2) is this sent-timetamp problem true for all sony-eriscsson models (the MPE software is damn useful, apart from that one annoyance which i know is nothing to do with the software - i did read the faq)? i am thinking of upgrading my phone but inputting the tmes on the phone has been a nightmare (see above) and i'd rather just buy a phone which would allow me to do all the transfers without having to spend time inputting those times, so if anyone knows of any phones and software which would allow me to do this i'd be grateful.

1) Just import the *.mpb-File into the message-archive.

2) No its impossible for ALL modells of SE. Its senseless to ask me frequently why it is so. Better you talk to SE, but since SE is a big unflexible concern i think you'll get no positive feedback.

thank you for the helpful reply.

in fairness to me, i didn't ask you "why it is so". what i asked, and the question is open to all the forum users as well, is whether the problem is the same for the newer SE models and/or other manufacturer's phones, as when i upgrade my phone (i.e., get a new one) i don't want to have to input that data in manually if there is a - relatively - new phone that doesn't have that issue.

I often described the problem. With the K700 the notes-section works basicly with some bugs. The K750 crashes if i want to read out the Notes, newer phone give an error back. Why do you think i say its impossible ? Its based on reality - not needed to cook a story about this.

It must be a way to set the reference to the sent message because the phone is doing it.
At least if you couldn't find the solution you can create a folder like "Deliveries" with just the phone numbers and date so we investigate it.
You are right abought tha balloon.
for the problem of showing the delivered icon beside the sent message on the phone, is it possible to send the notification to the phone so the phone does the delivered icon stuff itself?

Surely the is a refrence, but the phone itself is also not able to mark sent messages from MPE. It is cause the phone does not return a ID if you send a message. Not all phones, but the most.

Do you really think that i did not try this up to yet ? Its not possible.

Delivery-Reports will be handled as it is now
