I downloaded the 1.7.0 version of MPE (MyPhoneExplorer_Setup_1.7.0.exe) and started installing it... done the license accept, the ebay links, then the location of where it's to be installed. However when it goes onto the bit of installation where it shows the progress bar and should show the list of files being installed a popup box comes up and halts installation. The box says:

MyPhoneExplorer is currently running
Please close MyPhoneExplorer to continue

When I click "OK" though the box just constantly keeps coming up and doesn't allow me to go any further.

Any reasons why?

I am only using Avira AntiVir Personal on my computer. I have Microsoft Windows XP Home SP3 and I have used an older version a long long time ago and that installed fine. Any help would be really appreciated.

Is an older Version of MyPhoneExplorer installed ? And if yes - do you see the MyPhoneExplorer-Symbol in Systray ? If no - was MPE installed earlier on your PC ?

No other version is on my computer - nothing in Control Panel or in the Program Files folder. A version hasn't been installed on here since early 2007.

I went through the registry for anything left by the last installation, however there was only one folder. I have removed it and tried it again and it now works.

OK, this would be my next assist but if you found it already then everything is fine.
