Hi! What might have happened, and how can I fix it?
I opened MPE and none of my previously stored information was there. Not even the sms in the PC-archive. Nor could the program open the information in phone back-up. I tried "restore backup", but nothing happened. This is really awful for me, since i`ve used the program as storage for information that i no longer had room for in the phone itself!

Which folders do you see in %appdata%\MyPhoneExplorer and which files are in it.

Which profile or user is loaded in MyPhoneExplorer ?

I couldn`t find anything called %appdata%. Where do i go/what do i open to find it? Same goes for the profile-thing.

What happens to the data that`s beeen stored as back-up-files..an also to the sms-files saved in PC-archive? Should`t I be able to locate them some how, and open them with My Phone Explorer? Are they not actual files stored somewhere? I can find the backup-folder in my database, but then nothing opens up when I open the file...or the program.

Shouldn`t the pc-archive be stored in the pc itself somewhere...even if something happened to the program? It said when I looked in Advanced 2 in the program that my files where stored in documents and settings/program data...but such a file or folder as "program data" didn`t excist in documents and settings. I`m confused...

By the way: I use windows XP...if that makes any difference.

The "Applicationdata" Folder is normally hidden. Go to Start->Run and type in %appdata% - then click OK. A folder should open and you should see there a subfolder called "MyPhoneExplorer"

Since v1.5 its near impossible to loose data throught MyPhoneExplorer, but the data are saved on the PC as normal files, so you could delete them so that they are lost.

I couldn´t find any MyPhoneExplorer-folder when I went there. Does that mean it may have been accidentally deleted? (which is strange since the program still is to be found in Program files....but not the information that was stored using the program.

What name do those data files have? Maybe I can search for them and see if something shows up. I had moved lots of files to the PC-archive.

Often the Programdirectory is write-protected. this is the reason why MPE saves the Data in the appdata-folder (also recommened this way from Microsoft). Maybe the folder were deleted accidently - i don't know what you are doing on your PC. Maybe you created a new windows-account - in this case are the data on another folder. The filename for the SMS-Archive is: SMSArchive.dat
