hey people.

here's my problem. i've managed to connect my k800i to the pc (and the MPE) via USB cable. i've also managed to install the bluetooth dongle that supports handsfree and/or audio gateway.

after i installed the bluetooth thingy, two new items appeared in my sound control panel. bluetooth handsfree audio speakers and bluetooth handsfree audio microphone.

here are the pics:

the problem i'm facing is this. even though my computer (bluetooth dongle) asks me if i want to allow the use of the pc as a "headset"

and i choose to allow it, i dont get any sound from the speakers and my pc microphone doesn't "pick up" any sound (i.e. the other side, the caller, doesn't hear me).

does anybody have any idea what could be the solution to the problem?

i somehow have to "persuade" the pc to use the peripherals connected to it's sound card for catching and reproducing the sounds that arrive through bluetooth. i believe the problem is that the computer is expecting to use an additional bluetooth headset for calling purposes but i don't know how to deactivate it.
btw, im using the last widcomm/broadcom drivers on the vista x64.

and another thing...

i've read the faq. i see that the person that explained the use of the MPE and audio gateway at the same time actually managed to use the pc as a headset, bt did so by choosing "fast connect" in the bluetooth tray icon popup menu. that option does not exist in widcomm's latest bt stack (at least not for vista x64).

:D :D
how i like answering my own posts. well, i decided to write this in case someone else encounters this problem.

it seems something strange's happening to my computer. after i tried everything that came to mind, i tried pairing up a bluetooth headset with my computer. and that did it. after i connected to it and disconnected, everything started working as it should be. so...

feel free to lock this :)
