First of all, congratulations for this great job!

I use version 1.6.7 on Vista Home French, SE K800i and have the following problems with contacts:

- The info field is very short, about 2/3 lines. Is there a way to make it longer?

- I use it with my gmail contacts and make synchro. If I enter a contact on my telephone, then the synchro add the contact in GMail. If I add the contact in GMail, then the synchro doesn't add the contact on the telephone... I found the same problem if I use Thunderbird or Windows Contacts instead of GMail...

1) The phone can hold only 50 chars for the contactnote. I think its big enought.

2) There is a default enabled filter "Don't add contact which have no telephone-number". You can disable it in the sync-settings->Exceptions

Following your answer, I know it takes a long time ;o), I would like to know if it could be difficult for your to enlarge the amount of characters for the INFO field in Contacts? Something like 256 caracters could be nice...
I ask this because I use this field to store informations about any contact and I am always limited to 50 chars which is small...
I am sure also that the phone can hold more than 50 chars, I used to have more under M$Outlook.

first of all, many thank for a great tool!
Regarding the discussion on the INFO field, I would like to support proth63,
since I'm also using this field heavily to associate additional info items with my contacts. I also know quite a few other people using this field for storing longer text. I find it very unfortunate, that this information can't be synchronized. In fact, I see it as the only weakness of the tool, but for me (and I believe for many other users) it appers to be a significant problem. I was constantly checking updates in hope that this is a bug, until I found this forum topic saying that this feature is implemented so by design.

The software is still a great tool, but I would REALLY appreciate, if this limitation on the INFO field length could be removed.

MyPhoneExplorer DOES sync the infofield, but if the infofield in the phone is limited to 50 chars there is nothing to overide it. If you want to have a larger Info-Field then talk to SonyEricsson.

BTW.: There are some newer models which can hold more than 50 chars. In this case MPE detects the new limit automatically.

I didn't mean that the field is not synchronized, but the synchronized content is limited to 50 chars. I'm using W890i (with Thunderbird) and this model does support longer INFO fields. It works if I enter text manually on the phone and the content was in full length synchronized by the supplied software called PC-Suite (at that time I used Outlook as contact manager for the case this may be of importance). Somehow the ability of my phone to hold longer text doesn't seem to be recognized by MyPhoneExplorer.

Which version of MyPhoneExplorer you are using ?

I used 1.7, just installed 1.7.2 and it seems to work! After I connected my phone to the PC, MyPhoneExplorer offered me to synchronize a large number of contacts (probably those with longer INFO field), I selected the "Use from Thunderbird" option, and after the sync process was completed all INFO fields appeared in my phone in full length. Thanks!
