Google Calendar Sync

I know a few people have posted about Google Calendar sync problems, but it is difficult to be specific, especially when you have a large number of appointments.
I am having problems, and I can be specific about a couple of things that I noticed today. I have an event that I added to my phone earlier this week for tonight at 6.30 for 4 hours. I have sync'd, but this event has not been added to Google. It is still in the phone, though.
Some time ago (perhaps a month or two) I added an 'all day event' for both days this weekend. It existed in both my phone and Google as 'DR'. I edited the event in my phone to call it 'Wintel' the other day. While syncing today, I noticed MPE immediately changes this event to 'Wintel', but once it syncs with Google it changes back to 'DR'. At the next sync, MPE updates the phone calendar to rename the event 'DR'.
For some reason, MPE must be reading Google as the newer event. I have unticked 'compare only edited events (faster)' and there is no change to the bahaviour.
Sorry for the long post, just thought it was worth adding some detail!
