Loss of data

My German is not so well developed, my apologies for asking something that has already been discussed in German.

I have been using MyPhoneExplorer for the K700i, which I was quite satisfied with.

Recently, I bought a new phone - a Nokia N95. Consequently I haven't been able to use myphoneexplorer for synchronization etc., but I kept on using mpe as an archive of my text messages until today....

When I tried to move the last messages to the archive mpe tried to sync with the Nokia N95. I was wondering what would happen so I pressed OK. Unluckily, it caused that all messages have been lost... or at least I can't find the data that was once in mpe. I have never made a backup copy manually.

Has someone had a similar situation and solved it?

Hi

1) MPE is only for SonyEricsson phones and
2) MPE supports no symbian phones.

Have a look at

Code: Alles auswählen

File->Users
maybe there is a new user for the nokia (although it won't work). This would explain why the messages are "gone". Change the user back to the old one and have a look at the messages...

Thanks for the replies.

I know the myphoneexplorer is only meant for SE phones. I was just wondering if there is some way to restore the data. I have never made a backup, is there some location i can find automatically saved data?

Run -> %appdata%
There will be a folder "MyPhoneExplorer". All data is saved in there. Every phone has its own folder with a name like "Sony Ericsson K800 [3292........]". (The number is the serial of the phone.)

Had a similar problem with my k800i, I have two folders in the app data folder, how do I restore it to mpe?

Two folders ? You mean you have a old profile and you want to import those data ? If yes then choose the old profile in MPE (Menu-File-Users...). Then export the data (righclick in near every list). After this switch to the new profile and import the files.
