MPE keeps crashing whenever I try and start it. I also am unable to uninstall the program as the uninstaller crashes too. Can you help please

Anyway i try to guess:
I think you are using Windows Vista. The reason of your problem seems to be DEP. Please make an exception for MPE or deactivate it.

I'm using a Sony W880i via a usb connection on Vista Home Premium. I'm trying the latest MPE version 1.6.9 and my phone is updated with the latest firmware. I don't think it's DEP but i'll try anyway. I've included the information provided by windows

Its to 99% caused from DEP

Ammend MPE version to 1.6.7!

I've tried with DEP turned off and it's still the same. The uninstaller also crashes so I can't uninstall and reinstall a clean version either.

If the uninstaller hangs then its caused from DEP - its the only known bug. Did you reastart the PC after deactivateing DEP ?

Yes I have restarted. It seems to stop working when the uninstaller gets to uninstall MPE_gadget_connector.dll

Strange - it sound like the known DEP-Problem.

Do you have admin-access at this operations?

I've managed to fix the problem somehow. I had originally added MPE as an exception on the DEP list but I have now turned DEP off for everything except essential windows applications. I also uninstalled software for a Samsung mobile device.

I got the same problem when try to start MPE and I am using:

- K800
- USB cable
- MPE 1.6.7
- Windows Vista Home Basic

I try to search for firmware version, but it was failed.

I had tried both added MPE as an exception on the DEP list and turned DEP off for everything except essential windows applications. However, neither can work.

There is one thing different from "Si99uk", I can uninstall MPE and reinstall again.

What do you see in %appdata%\MyPhoneExplorer\Debug.txt ?
