K750: (almost) no bluetooth connection possible

Hi,

I'm trying to connect MPE with a SE K750 using BT. This works only once after i've installed the K750 as a BT-device. Subsequent connections always fail: cannot open COM port. I also tried locating the device with MPE, but MPE can't find anything.

Context:
MPE: 1.6.7 (never tried BT on previous versions)
PC: HP laptop DV9545 with Vista SP1
Cell: SE K750i with R1BC002
BT: HP Bluetooth module (vendor: broadcom) with 5.1.2535.0 driver. According to HP, this is the most recent driver
There is a microsoft bluetooth enumerator installed on the HP BT Module (driver: 6.0.6001.18000)
An outgoing serial port is defined (16)

Any suggestions?

FAQ
You have to initiate the serial connection first from your BT-Software

I have created an outgoing COM-port before using MPE. The BT-software chose port 16 and says clearly that this port is used by my phone. Is this what you mean by "initiating"? Or should i do some additional configurations? Anyway, MPE located automaticly the phone on com 16.

In the meantime, i found that my problem resembles a lot the problem discussed in http://www.fjsoft.at/forum/viewtopic.ph ... torder=asc (can't find a solution here)

I think i also have found more or less a workaround:

1) Turn off BT on the phone and watch how fast this goes

2a) If it goes fast, then the menu-item will change to "Turn BT on". Turn BT back on and MPE will connect to the phone.

2b) It it takes a while, then the menu-time will remain the same ("Turn BT off"). Press again "Turn BT off". The menu item will change to "Turn BT on". Turn BT on. Go back to step 1.

It's far from practical, but it seems to work. Unfortunately, i cannot explain why it works...

Anyway, MPE located automaticly the phone on com 16.
Does "Search device" also work after you were not able to connect with the phone ?

There should be a bluetooth-setting in the phone called like "Save energy" - you should enable this (it disables the possibility to run more then one BT-Service at the same time)

If "connect" does not work, then "search device" does not work either.
Energy saving has always been turned on.

Final workaround

The workaround suggested by Heathen on the gsmhosting forum (http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/archive ... 75845.html) works for me.

Heathens workaround:
Everytime you enable your bluetooth, just go to visibility in the bluetooth menu and even if your bluetooth setup is default in "show phone", re-enable it and it will hang for 3 to 5 seconds (which is not normal), then try to recieve/send via bluetooth.
It also works if you select the hidden mode.
