The program still crashes, but I can't find any log file. Also there is no entry in the Event viewer.
Thank you for the quick responses - looking forward to hearing from you again ...

You can open the logfile if you type this into Start->Run: %appdata%\MyPhoneExplorer\Debug.txt

Hmmm - does it also happen if you want to start a sync with Lotus (you can Abort the sync before MPE mnakes changes) ?

Same problem

Verfasst: Di 8. Apr 2008, 21:43

I have the exact same problem. I downloaded the Beta and tried it but no luck.

From log file:
22:28:14.53 ErrMsg: Folder structure from Lotus Notes could not be listed!

22:28:23.31 Lotus Initapplication...

22:28:25.36 LotusSession loaded

22:28:25.36 Error in InitApplication (cLotus) : -2147217504 Notes error: Could not open the ID file

This error is appearing in all sorts of sync apps I've tried (Sony Ericsson PC Suite, XTND Connect, Mobile Masters Corporate). Spending two whole days on this I don't know what to do anymore.

I'm starting to think this is a Vista problem rather than Notes / Sync App. Maybe UAC is the culprit?!

Can I manually give input to MyPhoneExplorer? The normal setting for Notes would be running Local with a scheduled sync to the server. As far as I can tell MyPhoneExplorer does not recognize "Local" as the server!?

My setup:

Windows Vista Enterprise SP1
Lotus Notes 7.0.2
MyPhoneExplorer 1.6.6 (+ Beta download)

Any tips will be GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks

I have heard from Sony Ericsson that our notes.ini could be pointing to the wrong server!?! Can this be checked and logged as a more specific error?
In my notes.ini it says: MailServer=CN=STLN20B/O=Company Name/C=DK
When I check in notes it says: STLN20B/Company Name/DK

Hope this helpes ...

... and by the way, the new gives the same error:

Disable UAC

Just a small update ...

After disabling UAC in Vista and reconfiguring Lotus Notes (had to create a new Lotus Notes profile since the old one was hidden somewhere byh UAC) MyPhoneExplorer is able to find and synchronize everything!

Sony Ericsson PC Suite 3.2 also found Lotus Notes and its databases but destroyed a lot of appointments (adding funny characters to the subject, location and notes) when synchronizing.

UAC is a good idea but as long as all software vendors don't know how to use it, it's just a pain in the you-know-where.

A small glitch though. The first Multi-Sync always works fine. Running it again without restarting Notes or MyPhoneExplorer makes both apps hang.

Thanks

I made a hidden workaround in MPE to go over this issue. MyPhoneExplorer can load the GUI-Object instead of the background librarys, this should overide the ID-Problem.

Open the file %appdata%\MyPhoneExplorer\general.ini
Make a new line directly under [Main] with the following text: UseLotusGUIAccess=1

Hi, I can not find the general.ini file to make that change. I have installed the Version 1.6.6 is there an update?
