Hello.
Thank you for this software that I use since many months.
My K800i had a bug and has been repaired last week by the guarantee of Sony Ericsson. When I recovered my phone the contacts where deleted.
But I saved all my contacts into MyphoneExplorer. So I decided to do a synchronization between MyPhoneExplorer and my K800i.
After the synchronization, I have lost ALL my contacts !!!! They were saved into MyPhoneExplorer but after the synchronisation and they have disappeared.
So, is it possible to access to the old files of PyPhoneExplorer to recover my contacts who were deleted ?
Thank you a lot for your response.

If MyPhoneExplorer detects an empty phonebook he will ask you for uploading. In other cases he will download a fresh copy when the sync-history is broken. I think this is your problem. Did you make any backup ?

Alas no, I have not made any backup !
I think that the solution is to try to restore the SimPhonebook.dat file with an utility software... I will look for one on the Internet.
But this problem surprise me because I did the synchronization for the organizer too. In this case, it has worked with no problem : it uploaded all my appointments into my K800i.
Maybe the error for my contacts is due to a bad use ?
Otherwise, maybe is it possible to repair the sync-history ?
Thank you FG.

SimPhonebook.dat ? It should be the file Phonebook.dat.
The sync-history will work in future cause MyphoneExplorer downloaded all entries from phone

Yes, you are right, it might be Phonebook.dat. But it is not present with the others .dat files into the folder ...\Application Data\MyPhoneExplorer\...

I have tried to find Phonebook.dat with 3 softwares : GetDataBack, EasyRecovery Professional and PC Inspector File Recovery. Nothing was found.
Have you got other informations to solve this problem ? If not, I think there is no solution.
Maybe a bug ? A mistake of use ?
Thank you for your help.

A combination between mistake and use and bug. In the next major-version i will implement new things which should make this behavior better.

Hi FJ
I had similar problems with MPE 1.66 & K750i.
Last 2 times that I started the program, it had nothing in the contacts. I downloaded the entire contacts from the phone and next time, it was the same, no contacts.
I located
Phonebook.dat and noticed that it was empty (rows of zeros).
I renamed the
Phonebook.dat and restarted the MPE, downloaded the entire contacts from the phone. MPE created a new
Phonebook.dat and after that it was working fine. Next time I started MPE, my contacts were there.
It probably had and error in the
Phonebook.dat and could not save the data.
Like
SMS_backup.dat , maybe it would be a good idea to have a
Phonebook_backup.dat for future versions.
Take care

Your problem has nothing similar with the above one. I also heart up to yet nothing about zeros in the phonebook-file. Maybe its a simple problem caused from restricted permissions.
