Using MPE for the first time. Just before I sent in my phone for servicing, I had sync all my contacts and sms onto my laptop. After getting back my phone, I happily did a sync and to my astonishment, my initial 400 contacts on the laptop are replaced by the 250 contacts in my SIM card. Pardon my ignorance, I am really desperate for the lost contacts. How do we retrieve it if there's any means. Thanks

Did you take a backup of your phone before sending it away? This is always advisable for just such occurrences.

There are 2 sections in contacts in MPE - SIM & Phone. You say there were 400 or so contacts, but these have now been replaced by the 250 on the SIM. Can you clarify what happened, as I don't think you could have had 400 contacts on a SIM?

First: There is a feature inbuild: Menu-Extras-Create backup. Always use this to create a independend backup.
If you sync your phone after the service and the contacts are empty, then MyPhoneExplorer checks that there is something wrong and he will upload all contacts after a messagebox. If there were already 250 contacts after service then MyphoneExplorer checks that the sync-history has gone and he will download a fresh copy. In this case your contacts are lost.

Have you any other Backup (Excel, Outlook, csv-File, vCard-File) ?

PS.: Be careful with sending me private messages, i don't like it if some users think they are more important than others. I answer ALWAYS as far as possible. I have also a job and so it can happen that i reach the forum only on evening.

I did have all the 400+ contacts sync over to MPE before I send over for servicing. The SIM card always have the 250 contacts. Hence, after picking up my phone from the service center, I sync it with MPE. It was then I found that the initial 400+ contacts in MPE is replaced by the 250 contacts in my SIM card. Anyway to salvage?

Thats not possible. I think i know what you have done: You choosed Copy all Contacts from SIM to phone in the handset itself.
