Unable to connect SE "995 to MPE

Hey all, I recently got a SE W995 revived from a boot looping issue and I was looking at ways to backup all my old files (specifically messages) when I came across MPE as a solution.

The only issue is that no matter which option I select under Connection > SonyEricsson phone with modeminterface, it does not detect my phone. I have it plugged in via USB cable and I've tested with the default connection mode set to PC mode, file transfer, the lot. None of the COM port options work, they all just say "No device found"

Am I missing something obvious or is there another way I could get this connection up and running?

Its german, but you see there a screenshot how your device manager should look like. Do you see all 4 COM-Ports for your W995?

Are you able to completly boot your phone? If i remember right you also have to put in a SIM-Card so that the phone gets fully booted.

If this does not help then please send me a screenshot of your devicemanager and the logfile after you tried to connect via email.

Thanks for the link to the other thread! Unfortunately I don't appear to have those COM ports but it seems that I don't have any drivers I can install to allow them to show up.

The phone boots in and functions completely normally, just doesn't want to connect properly to MPE! It shows up in File Explorer etc and I can browse the media files etc on there
