WARNING: MPE destroyes call logs

There has been a catastrophic level, undocumented change in MPE that destroys your call log history (the reason a lot of people are in fact using MPE). In the Advcanced settings a setting "Archive calls" is now 1 year.
As result, without asking, without generating a backup, your call logs get cleared from past this point when you start MPE.
I don't know when this changed, most likely in the latest version.

Normally, all settings are adopted 1:1 during an update.
If your changed settings are not saved, then there is a rights problem conceivably

Unfortunately I was reported about this by another person. I went and checked it from me and same had happened with me. It certainly does not seem like an issue on my end.
Check yours, is yours still at unlimited, or has it changed to 1 year?
Personally I managed to salvage my old call log (because I changed phones about 9 months ago it was still on that phones profile), unlikely the person alerting me to this issue.

I still have all call logs back for several years, back to the date I bought the phone I am actually using.
So it could be a permission issue as icke1954 suggestioned.

And you are using the latest version? Interesting. I now know two other people in addition to me whom have had this happen very recently, most likely with the latest version.
What permission issues could it be, going into the details?

Was the old MPE version previously uninstalled or simply installed over it?

Yes, I always have the latest version of both the MPE on the computer as the client on the phone.

Like Vesa, my call log now shows only 1-year. Today it shows december 2023 to december 2024, november 2023 has been deleted.
I use now version 2.2 on PC, version 4.2 on mobile.
With former versions, I did not have call log history issues.....

Just checked the code history.
Until Version 2.0 the default archive duration was set to 1 year, in Version 2.1 and 2.2 the default duration is set to "Forever". But if you did set the duration to "Forever" with Version < 2. then this setting was stored. So probably you did make a new install and cause of this the setting was deleted.
