Guys,

MyPhoneExplorer looks like a dream.
But, I got an issue.
When I try to connect to my phone from my PC via a USB cable, I got the error:
Could not connect with the phone: Phone can't be identified.

I guess AOSP version 11 is not compatible, am I right?
Is AOSP considered at least as Android compatible?
Is there some ADB Windows driver I should try?
At this time the "List of supported phones" is empty.

Spec:
Phone is TCL Flip 4058E with MediaTek 6739-CH
Phone OS is AOSP version 11 (Android Open Source Project) (Seems some have KaiOS OS, not me)
Phone is in debug mode via *#*#33284#*#*
USB connexion is enable.
Semms like I got to set USB file transfer at enable to see the ADB interface in Windows else I got WinUSB

Computer is Windows 11 Build 22621
I see my phone in device manager/mobile device
I see ADB interface in device manager/Universal serial bus device. Driver is from MS, version 10.0.22621.2506

Probably you did not allow MyPhoneExplorer Client on the phone the permission "Telephone". If this is not the reason then post the logfile directly after you saw the error message

Since it was a USB connexion, I was under the impression that no internet was needed for the phone.
From my carrier I got phone call and SMS only, no data, no internet.
If I understand, internet is needed for the installation time.
I will try to enable it via WiFi to my rooter.
You did not say that AOSP version 11 was incompatible, so this is good news.

It seems the pc version of MyPhoneExplorer was not able to auto-install MyPhoneExplorer Client on the phone. Are you able to use WiFi for internet on your phone? If yes then install "MyPhoneExplorer Client" throught PlayStore. If this is not possible then visit this location from the browser in your phone: https://www.fjsoft.at/files/mpeclient_3.3.apk
If this is also not possible then download the file via PC and transfer it to the phone storage with Windows Explorer. On the phone you can open the apk-File to install MyPhoneExplorer Client.

Hi FJ,

I must say the the I'm not familiar with the ASOP world.
In the last days, I read half the internet to find how to install MyPhoneExplorer on my Flip.
I learned about adb, usb debug mode, I was able to set the developper mode and trigger oem unlock.
I did a Wi-Fi connection to the internet. Gave permission to the FireWall.
I was hoping to root the device to get more possibilities.
What I found is a way to root the device, but even then,
it still resist to installation so I didn't try this rooting.
And another roothing was made on a Flip with KaiOs OS, seems that some TCL Flip run on this.
The Kaios version have Google apps and Google Assistant. It was out autumn 2019.

I've played with ScrCpy & QtScrcpy to get familiar with my new toy.
I used a couple version of MediaTek MTKdroidTools.exe to see if something could be done.

As suggested, I copied mpeclient_3.3.apk in "TCL Flip\Stockage interne partagé\Download"
And for a supplemental test, a simple NotePad.apk.

From the phone, the result was always the same,
neither mpeclient_3.3.apk nor NotePad.apk where installed.
The message is: APK installation not supported

This TCL Flip ASOP 11 phone resist to all installation.
Seems nobody on the net have succeeded to install any app on this phone.

In the last MyPhoneExplorer install I tried, I had endless loop on the "Connecting to phone via USB cable".

Same phone different provider: Videtron TCL Flip, Bell TCL Flip, Alcatel, MAXWEST Neo Flip, etc.

I guess TCL did a great job at blocking apps. installation.

I will continue my search, hoping for the best.

I was finally able to root my TCL Flip 4058E / MediaTek 6739-CH AOSP 11 so I can now install applications.
Via adb, I installed MyPhoneExplorerClient_3.4_apkcombo.com.apk
It's working!
Beautifull work you did, MyPhoneExplorer is superb.
Simple to use, all is there and a lot more than expected.

The only problem I got is to sync the contacts via usb.
I got OBEX Errorcode: C1 - Unauthorized
I will search the forum for a solution.

No more OBEX Errorcode: C1 - Unauthorized.
I uninstalled the phone client via adb
rebooted the phone
reinstalled the phone client via adb
Answered a ton of questions on the phone after starting MPE.
Important is to get the place where to give access contacts permission, etc.

All is fine!
