how can i stop this happening?
if i delete a photo on the phone, i do not want or need it to get synced to my computer.
MPE did not used to act this way. i suspect it started with Android version 12, but that is just a guess.
how can I help get this behavior changed?

Thank you, but i do want MPE to move/sync photos, just not the trashed files, whose file names all start with .trashed [dot]trashed

Oh sorry, my mistake, I misunderstood
Do you use the
Sync photos function or a self-defined file-sync job ?

Thanks for the information.
However, I cannot reproduce your problem.
In no case should our program transfer photos from the folder \Android\.trash
Where are your deleted photos on the phone?

that's good to know. It didn't do this previously. As I said before, i think it may have started when I updated to Android 12. I am now running Android 13.
I'd love to tell you where my phone stores my deleted images, but I do not know. I've looked with a file app, but it doesn't appear to be showing hidden folders, which I suspect this is.
if you can tell me how to find this location, I'll happily report back.
OK, spent some time looking around and testing. Turns out, my phone just adds ".trashed-[somerandomnumber]-" in front of the file name of whatever I delete, and it's this file which is being imported as a new photo. it resides in the same folder as my images, which in this case is DCIM\Camera
I do not know if this is normal behavior, or if I've somehow done something to cause this behavior.
Either way, I would thing MPE should ignore files which start with a dot, or at least ones that start with .trashed
Thanks for looking into this
however, I have not purposefully ever told my phone to do anything weird or different with deleted images, so it should be the default location.

Oh, I was afraid of that, which mobile phone do you use?
I'll escalate the issue to FJ, thanks for the tip!

that seems to have worked. Quick testing shows no .trashed photos in my laptop folder after the latest sync.
thank you!
