hello,
i came to that forum as i used software time ago... but i am still not clear.. there are so many tools to backup android phone... but most of them looks like a rubbish...

My use case is to move all the photos and data files (downloads / documents) out from photo to windows / smb share... but i want to preserver all the metadata (timestamps, etc of the files)

Is myphoneexplorer meant for such an use case or i am completely wrong or is there any advice/ recommendation?

Yes, there is no data lost/deleted in the transfer.
So the MPE is the tool you want to use.
