previously, i had an installation problem where the shellmgr.dll hangs on installation and then crashes the installation. excepting the setup file in DEP worked. thanks to this forum.

however, now i have a whole new problem. the program itself does not even start. i doubleclick the program and all i get is a MyPhoneExplorer has stopped working, with the two options of Check online for a solution and close the program, and Close the program.

anybody help?
thanks in advance!

Does exist the file C:\Windows\System32\SPort.dll on your PC and is it correctly registred ?

Verfasst: Sa 13. Okt 2007, 15:58
von drunknmunky
yes, SPort.dll file exists under the correct directory, but i dunno whether or not it is registered correctly or not.

i ran Command Prompt (i am the Administrator of my Vista) and typed in
regsvr32 sport.dll

but the command prompt crashed.

but the command prompt crashed.
That should not happen. Also tried to Drag&Drop the file to regsvr32.exe ?

yep. i dragged the sport.dll within the system32 folder and dropped it into regsvr32 ... regsvr crashed once again.

Please download this app and tell me which message you get. The exe does only try to load all librarys which are used from MPE.

i looked at my Reliability and Performance Monitor, in the Reliability Monitor, and i realized that i had alot of application failures with regards to DllHost.exe and/or RunDLL32.exe

after i initially encountered errors with those, that's when a few of my programs stopped working, including MPE.

Very good detective work ;-)

You have already a fix for this ?

haha thank you.

but no not yet, i don't have a fix for it yet =\

actually, the problem simply was with my Data Execution Prevention settings on Windows Vista.

as soon as i excepted MPE from the DEP protection, it worked fine. and i also excepted your Test file that you gave me as well, and that worked fine too.

so the problem, this whole time, was with my DEP settings.

sorry for wasting your time, but your help is GREATLY appreciated. it's very rare these days for the software developer of such a great software come to your personal aid when you have a problem with their program.

thank you VERY much. :D
