Hi there,
I have the exact same problem with v1.6.4
I have not installed anything or change personal FW rules since the last time it worked properly
I have uninstalled v1.6.4 and replaced by v1.6.6 => still the LP5 error + SPort.dll issue
I can't restart the pc right now 'coz some job running for another 10 hours but I'll do that asap.
any other ideas ?
XP pro sp2 , w880i, dell D610 laptop , nod32+outpost (anti virus & personal FW)
... (please ask if you need more details)
cheers,

The file SPort.dll should have been copied into the systemdirectory. Does it exist ?

yes, it's in c:\windows\system32
and myphoneexplorer works properly after xp restart.
i guess the case is closed
for the record, the problem occurred while cpu use was 100% for a while (h264 dvd encoding with handbrake). The system may have encountered some irq issues, 'coz I noticed there was some weird behavior of some other applications (thundurbird not responding and needing to be shut from tskmgr, that kinda things)
So after all, I'd vote for some minor system crash due to full cpu load for several hours.
thanks anyway (for support and for this great software)
