I have a Sony Ericsson Z520a and I am trying to figure out if it is possible to change the sound of the reminder alarm, and if so - how?

Thanks,

The remindersound can be changed in the phone - Menu-Organizer-Reminder

Really - so the question is why you want to change the sound if your phone doesnt have a reminder ;-)

Your phone has a reminder - thats sure. but i'm not sure where the main-menu for the reminder is in your phone. Check all menus. maybe its called "Alarms" ?

my phone has an alarm, but thats not quite the same thing I'm talking about. I can change the sound my alarm uses.

I'm referring to the reminder in my calendar.
If I setup an event in my calendar, and I want it to remind me at a certain time of the day, it makes a noise at that time. My problem, I don't like the sound the reminder makes, the little tune is annoying. I'd rather have something that sounded less fruity or noticeable to the people around me and more like a reminder tune... I wish I could change it to one of the received SMS's tunes. Just a sharp, quick beep or noise... that doesn't sing to me or last more than 1 or 2 seconds - thats all I want.

I've looked everywhere in my phone and I can change just about every noise, except the Calendars Reminder sound... is there a way to hack it or some other way I can gain access to change the sound it uses for the reminder?

Thanks,

Ah - now i understand.

You are right - this setting cannot be changed in the phone. It is possible with Flash-Tools but you'll loose your Garanty if you access your phone with this tools. Please search some forums to find the way how to change the sound with flash-tools. I'm sure you'll find something on www.esato.com or similar forums.

is there a possibility of destroying the phones OS by doing this?

There is a risk. But normally it happens only if you do things which you don't understand in the firmware. So if you do something be sure that you are able undo the action.

I went to that link you gave me and searched around on the site and on the forums, but wasn't able to find any information about the Flash-Tools you referred me to.
