Deleteing Messages and Donate

Two general questions:
1.) What are the rules to determine when a message is able to be deleted from within the MPE application and when not?
2.) I donated to support this great program. I had a system crash and had to do a full Windows install, how to I get rid of the "Donate" message on closing app.
