message window not opening

Recently when I try to respond to an incoming message or create a new message I'll click on the reply icon or the new message icon but the message window doesn't open. It looks like a window has opened when you hover over the MyPhoneExplorer icon in the task bar, but if you click on it nothing happens. Anybody have any suggestions? I appreciate any help you can provide.
