Exe file version 1.8.12 via Fosshub banned by IT security

Dear MyPhoneExplorer-creator,

I've been using MPE for over 5 years now, and I'm extremely happy with it.
I have an issue now because I have a new laptop and I wanted to install the latest version (my previous one was version 9 or something), but the anti-virus and malware software of my company bans the file I downloaded via Fosshub.

Initially just PUA:Win32/VOPackage was flagged for having a 'bad reputation', but when my IT security colleagues ran the software in a Virtual environment for analysis a number of other flags came up.

I've reported this to Fosshub but they quote the results of Jotti's Malware Scan and that's it. IT suggested I could go to the original creator of the software to ask for a direct link. Or - if that is not possible within the boundries of your agreement with them - maybe I could get an older version, to see whether that passes the security scan.

I would very much appreciate it if you could help me with this. I have duly donated for using the software when I first started using it, so I don't consider myself a freeloader in any case, but I would happily pay for this service again :-)

Well, I´d suggest you download the MPE from the original website and not via infested sites like Fosshub.

That would be a great solution, if the link to 'download' on the original page didn't redirect to fosshub. If you've got a direct link I would be incredibly thankful. :-)

I tried the download here: https://www.fjsoft.at/en/

Thanks. Not sure whether my German is sufficient to be able to handle the German version, but will try.
I don't understand though why the English download button would link to another page, and the German wouldn't...

Update

I'm getting the same 'download failed - file incomplete' message as with the English version that I downloaded from Fosshub. I managed to download that one from home, but when installing it, all the red flags came up.

I'll download it and present it to the IT security department, but even if innocent in fact, they probably won't whitelist it...

Will report back when I know more though. :-)

Well, in that case it´s tough luck for you.
There´s nothing FJ can do about it.

I get a clean scan from Virustotal:

Downloaded from this direct link:

Good luck!
