MPE crashes when I attempt to connect with Samsung S8

Hi guys,

My issue is that the client has started to crash recently when it was fine before.

When I perform a manual sync (as usual) MPE crashes. Outlook and the pst open fine.
after installing the nightly patch I found in another post and checking some other things, it now lags a bit on startup (connect on startup is disabled) then crashes when I try to manually connect over wifi. this is how i always did it.

The Outlook (2013) data and application seems fine and the logs didn't seem to show anything particular.
I have installed some windows updates recently and other apps, but a hard crash is hard to gauge especially when this application has worked fine for years until now.

Any ideas?

I'm running windows 7 ultimate x64, latest important updates.
outlook 2013.
samsung S8 (stock Android 7.0).
Myphone explorer 1.8.8 nightly.

I couldn't get it to sync over wireless without messing about but bluetooth works great.
I'm now using 1.8.9 with thunderbird on windows 10 pro x64
