Just had to do a factory reset on my phone. (just kept pinging every second)
Have backed up using MyPhoneExplorer desktop
Re booted clean phone and go to play google to INSTALL and my device is greyed out - i.e. already installed

How can I overcome this problem?

Later.....

Decided to go back to factory settings / recover backup etc
PS remember to Enable USB Debugging !
