Series appointment syncs to the wrong day

I love MPE, except for this one problem which has caused me to miss appointments.
I am experiencing a problem where a series appointment will sync to the wrong day on my phone.
The problem appears to be related to time/date zone differences from Asia-Pacific region to North America region.
I am using Outlook 2013, and MPE 1.8.7. The same issue happened on earlier versions of MPE.
This is an example of a series appointment which will cause this problem:
1. A series/recurrence appointment is created in Singapore (Asia-Pacific region) for every Wednesday at 8AM Singapore time.
2. The appointment is sent to me and shows on my Outlook calendar for Tuesday at 4:00PM Pacific time. This is correct and as expected.
3. I open MPE and the appointments appears on Wednesday (not Tuesday as in my Outlook) at 4:00PM Pacific time. If I sync to my phone the appointment will appear on Wednesday, not Tuesday.
4. When I open the 'Recurrence' tab within Outlook for the series I find 'Wednesday' is checked, and the time shows as Pacific Standard Time. I expect this is because the series originated in Singapore as a Wednesday (Singapore time) series.
I can force MPE to sync correctly by:
Change the Recurrence to Tuesday and save the series. The 'time zone' comments vanish within the Recurrence tab, the appointments still show on Tuesday in Outlook, and MPE will now sync to Tuesday. By doing this I have effectively changed the series in Outlook to fully Pacific Standard Time. Doing this unlinks the series from the originator which causes other problems should the originator need to change the appointment.
Have you encountered this problem and is there a fix for it?
