MPE Is Restarting Thunderbird Every 5 Minutes

I believe MPE is restarting my email client Thunderbird every 5 minutes (as timed with a stop watch).

There are times when I don't want TB to be running. For example, during a backup.

If I exit TB it will restart in 5 minutes. I found that a program SKSMailD.exe is running (Windows 8.1). If I rename the file to SKSMailDbak.exe and reboot I get an error that the file cannot be found (I want that to happen).
Then, MPE will then give me the error message, "Connection to the phone could not be established: Failed to Obtain the IP-address of the phone"

If I correct the file name and restart SKSmailD.exe, it doesn't help. Same error message from MPE. Apparently SKSmailD.exe needs to run at startup for MPE to work.

No other programs seem to be effected by the lack of SKSMailD.exe. That implies MPE is calling for SKSMailD.exe at startup.

MPE>>>SKSMaild.exe>>>TB restart.

Is there a way to stop TB from restarting?
