File sync not working properly

Hello,

I am trying to use the File Sync to sync a fairly large directory tree (about 5 GB) from my PC to the phone (Galaxy S4 with Cyanogenmod 12.1), and I just can't get it to work properly.

In the Customize dialog, I have selected the "Reflect folder" option, as well as "Include subfolders". The "Include files" field is set to "*.*;*", while "Exclude files" has "~*.*;~*" (the latter is to keep the MS-Office work files from getting synced).

When I run a sync with an empty target location, MyPhoneExplorer transfers the files and folders, but sets the "Created" and "Last modified" timestamp to the time of the sync (i.e. the original timestamps are NOT preserved). This is clearly a huge problem and should NOT be this way. In addition, the sync seems to exclude empty folders, which is also not correct.

I have also tried pre-copying the files to the target location and THEN running the sync, in which case MyPhoneExplorer creates an additional copy of each file (postfixed with "(1)"). That is what I would have expected to happen if I had selected the "Save folder" option, but with "Reflect folder", any changed files should have been replaced, and the unchanged ones left untouched.

I really need a working file sync -- please help!

I was hoping someone from FJ Software would answer and offer a solution. I still hope they will...

Unfortunately, the only person "from FJ Software" who's been answering recently is Kohlner, and it's rare that a solution is offered.

It seems the tone of responses has turned from suggestions for solutions to defensive "not our fault" responses (when there's any kind of response at all), which is sad.

This being a support forum, we're not here to bitch about problems, we're usually here to report on them & ask for help (and sometimes help each other) solving them. A support forum is not about placing blame, it's about finding solutions. Often, it's a setting in the software. Sometimes it's a bug. Sometimes it's a bug with another piece of software/etc...and sometimes a solution from an outside source will present itself suggested by a member.
