hi there,

i recently had a problem with my K800i and had to send it off to be replaced. I made a backup of my phonebook etc using mpe. However now that the new phone has arrived i do not have a .mpb file, only a number of .dat files on for phonebook, one for messages etc. Can i backup using these, or can i create another .mpb from the .dat's?
thanks
Patrick

Hi Patrick,
I made a backup of my phonebook etc using mpe
Do you mean you've used the backup function of MPE to create this
backup? If so, you should have given a path- and filename for this
backup (default Backup.mpb). Am i right that this file isn't still there?
Can i backup using these, or can i create another .mpb from the .dat's?
This question is for your new phone, right?
First, the connection to your new phone is successful?
If you connect your phone, can you see the contents of these files (from
the old phone)? If so, all is ok and you can just make a new backup.
If not, do you still have the same SIM-card with the same IMEI in it?
MPE creates profiles for each phone with different IMEI's. In this case,
search for the old mpb file, if present, restore it to MPE and synch again.
