Hi
I have a HTC one dual sim 802W (UK version) updated with Android 4.4.2 and sense 6 (official stock rom). Since this update it is no longer possible to synchronize folders. MyPhoneExplorer client is able to write new files on PC but is not able to write new files on phone SD card. Is there a solution ?
Thank you to consider situation

Yes, root your phone and apply sd card fix with this app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... tapp.sdfix

Thank you for your quick answer, unfortunately my phone is already rooted, the sdfix software didn't work even with a zip from recovery. The file platform.xml is protected and only a few softwares can write on sd cards such as cameras, polaris office,..
I was hoping you could have a patch to provide the same privilages that polaris for instance.
Best regards

if you have indeed rooted your phone, then you can edit all files, you just need to set /system/app/permissions writable in your root file manager (e.g. in Root Explorer there is a button called "Mount r/w").

I already tried but if i ask to remount rw using total commander the screen gets black and the phone reboot. It's happening the same using sdfix, at last step, black screen and reboot. Of course, after this reboot the permissions are not granted.
I think android added a specific protection in last update 4.4.2
My question is how some softwares can write and other can't. For instance, joba tex ' editor is not able to save text files on sd, polaris office 5 is able.
Best regards

is polaris preinstalled on your phone? every app installed in /system/app has permission to write on sd card.
hm i would try another explorer app like es explorer.

Yes, I suppose, I can't see any other explaination. But as I used Titanium to re-install all previous soft, I don't remember if it was already or not.
I used es Explorer as well (my prefered) but the problem is even after replacing Platform.xml, at phone reboot, the original is back again!
I use what'sapp, it writes pictures and data without problem and was not, for sure, pre-installed.
There should be a way.
What is constant is MyPhoneExplorer is no longer compatible with android!
I'm desperate!

There is one more chance:
Uninstall MPE client, then copy the .apk file to /system/app, set permission rw-r--r-- and reboot your phone.
It will think that MPE is preinstalled and grant permission to sd card.

Done, at the very moment I paste MPE apk in system/app the screen gets black and the phone reboots.... They relly locked it!

I also tried to copy / paste apk from recovery builtin explorer but the app folder is not appearing in system folder, the only visible one is bin !
Then, no way.
I am dead
I was using MPE for so many years!

Not only MyPhoneExplorer, all third party apps are affected by this issue. If the folders are not too big then you could use the internal storage. The internal storage is not locked.

Yes,I through about it but the folders i sync are too big and expending everydays Then i would kill the internal memory at once

have you tried TTcommander beta for Android?
Here I have a certain acces to the extSdcard.

Thank you again to consider my problem, I just tried 2.05 beta version of total commander, when I modify Platform.xml, I have a warning window saying impossible to save new file
This protection is super tough, what a mistake from Android!
It is useless to have an android market when all the software are suddenly not able to work properly! Even a simple texte editor is not able to save files on sd or ext sd!

I have made a workaround which should help at least some users: If the phone is connected via USB-Cable then MyPhoneExplorer does try to transfer the files via MTP. Please test and report:

Hi,
My LG Pro just updated to Android 4.4.2 and now I can't transfer files from Computer to Phone using MPE.
Still working on it, but I just found I was able to by connecting directly with USB cable (but not installing any of the software offered).
Then navigate to System storage\external_SD\documents\ (in my case)
It let me create a new folder, then I could drag and drop files from the computer into the new folder on the SD card.
All the best,
David in Taiwan

With MyPhoneExplorer 1.8.6 you can do it too - but only when the phone is connected via USB-Cable

Hi,
Thanks for the update which installed no problem. I find now that downloading using MPE via Wifi works fine, but it is still impossible to upload. The only way to upload is directly using drag and drop via a USB cable.
I agree with the comments about Android/Google's crazy decisions on this. I find too that photos and videos are put in such weird places. For instance, since the update to 4.4.2 both the place and naming convention of photos and videos have changed, so now I have:
External storage\DCIM\100LGDSC\ (4 old videos using the original naming convention)
External storage\Camera\ (5 new videos using new names based on date and time taken)
Also, you would actually expect photos, not videos, to be found in these folders.
Memory card\DCIM\100LGDSC\ (most of the older camera photos using the original naming convention)
Memory card\DCIM\Camera\ (photos using the new naming convention)
Memory card\Pictures\David n Paula (a folder I created at some point)
Memory card\Pictures\NAVER_LINE\ (photos sent to me using Line)
And there are missing photos I still haven't found!
Come on Android, get it right
