On my phone and in other software, if I try to edit a recurrent event it asks me if I want to change "only this event?" or "all recurring?". I cannot figure out how to edit only the one event from within MPE calendar program.

This is currently not possible, but you can delete the ocurrence and create a new single appointment instead.
